Hello! I’m Brooke Justinger and I am a part of the Medical Psychology Associates - Milwaukee Team. This will be my first year joining this fantastic group of amazing professionals, My practice specializes in early childhood and adolescents.
For a little background information about me, I have been a school psychologist for 17 years and I have the utmost passion to make sure that every child will succeed. Throughout my career, I have worked in the Milwaukee Public School District, the School District of Greenfield, the Cedarburg School District, and the Mayville School District.
On a more personal-side, I am highly involved in my community and the communities that surround me. I have two daughters who are both on the completion cheer and gymnastics team. Needless, our family is very active.
Rewind to before I got married, started my career, and had two beautiful daughters… I grew up in Sheboygan, WI. I had a younger brother who kept me on my toes. My maternal side of the family was quite large, and as a result, I grew up with several cousins. I was the oldest of my cousins by ten years and I LOVED spending time with them. As I reached my early teenage years, I had a knack for taking care of children. Babysitting for families during the summer during the summer months was extremely rewarding.
When I was in my senior year in high school, I knew I wanted to attend college…, but for what? Even with uncertainty, I applied for just one college, UW-Milwaukee. When the mail kept rolling into my parents’ mailbox each day, I was scared and excited all in the same breath. I vividly remembered the day when my mom informed me that a letter, addressed to me, arrived from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I didn’t want to open it at first, in case of failure. I took several deep breaths and took the plunge. I remember not wanting anyone else to read it with me. When I saw the word ‘Accepted’, I began running around the house screaming. One of my future goals came true.
While in my first year in college, I took the basic courses that were required - English, math, science, foreign language, etc. During my second year in college, I decided to take a psychology class, which changed my future’s trajectory. Psychology was where I found my passion. However, my first passion dating back to my childhood was working with children. Looking into potential careers after graduation, I Google searched child psychology, and found my dream psychology + children.
After graduation, I applied for a Master’s program in school psychology that was offered at UW-Milwaukee. Again, like the first time I applied for college, I kept waiting for “that” letter to come. When it did, I couldn’t believe my eyes… I was accepted into the Master’s program. After receiving my Master’s degree in school psychology, I decided to further my education and received my Educational Specialist Degree, Ed.S.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about myself. I can't wait to learn more about you.
